Experience & Training

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Masters in Social Work from Hunter College. I have worked with people with a broad range of ages, experiences, and identifications—from young people to older adults, LGBTQIA+ individuals, survivors of violence, people coming home after incarceration, immigrants, refugees, and others. I am particularly committed to supporting people of color and others from marginalized communities.

I have assisted people grappling with varying issues including:

Depression

Suicidal Thoughts

Employment Issues

Poverty

Transphobia

Islamophobia

Homelessness

Anxiety

Family issues

Abuse

Racism

Homophobia

War

Immigration

Trauma

Couples Issues

Chronic Illness

Sexism

Xenophobia

Incarceration

Body Shaming & Dysmorphia

I tailor my approach to the needs and goals of the person, couple, or family with whom I am working, and what is effective and helpful for my clients. I am an EMDR-trained therapist and draw upon different ways of understanding human reactions and overcoming hardships including relational, psychoanalytic, narrative, cognitive behavioral, and systems perspectives.

I have a background in oral history, and I believe the narratives we are told, internalize, and pass on to others shape our lives profoundly and what is possible in the present and future. I strive to center my practice within anti-oppressive, harm reduction, and restorative justice frameworks to prevent further harm, get at the roots of problems, and resolve or mitigate them in healing, sustainable ways.
